VDA 6.3 Auditor - initial exam
The examination requirements for the VDA 6.3 auditor remain the same after the release of VDA 6.3 version 2023.
The validity of VDA 6.3 auditor certificates issued after 1 January 2023 is 5 years.
Only certificates in electronic form are now issued. Auditor cards are no longer issued.
Terms
Education and experience requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 2 years in quality assurance;
- ISO 19011 auditor qualification (system auditor) - minimum 3 days of training
Other requirements
- The applicant is required to take the VDA Process Auditor Qualification 6.3 licensing course. If the applicant took the course in 2022 or earlier, then the Upgrade course is required prior to taking the exam.
- The applicant is required to take a minimum of a two-day course on Core-Tools; they have 2 options:
- licensing course Automotive Core Tools for auditors - ACT VDA (at VDA QMC - ID 417) <a href="https://www.csq.cz/vzdelavani/detail/automotive-core-tools-pro-systemove-auditory-a-auditory-procesu-act-vda">ACT VDA - Czech Society for Quality (csq.cz).
- or
- Non-licensed courses on the topic of Core-Tools (at least 2 days long and not older than 2019), followed by an online quiz. To access the quiz, it is necessary to contact the staff of the education department (novotova@csq.cz, kotenova@csq.cz).

. Courses from other providers will not be accepted for the exam.
Certification exams are normally conducted at the premises of the CSJ. In Slovakia, they are conducted in
rented premises, mostly in Bratislava. In case of more than 5 candidates from one company, the certification
exam can be conducted in the company.

- Completing the application form from the Supplementary Information , attaching all necessary documents in electronic form and emailing them to the COp responsible.
- Evaluation of the extent to which the applicant meets the requirements of the CSJ
- Any additional additions to the required documents
- Decision on admission to the examination

The procedure is as follows:
- The test starts at 8.00 am unless otherwise stated.
- Personal documents check (please bring your photo ID or passport)
- Each participant draws the order in which they will take the oral part of the exam. Based on the numbers drawn, the Exam Schedule will be determined. The participant is required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of his/her preparation.
- Familiarisation with the exam, answering general questions
- The exam takes the form of an audit as a case study. The auditor is evaluated on the basis of the performance given. The audit preparation, the auditor's performance during the audit and the subsequent audit summary are assessed.
- The test takes a total of 60 minutes. Of which:
30 minutes: Preparing for the audit
20 minutes: Performing an audit
5 minutes: formulating and evaluating deviations
Five minutes: Discussion between examiner and examinee (deviations and turtle, if possible)
In preparation, you can use the printed materials (including VDA 6.3) that you received in the VDA licensing courses. However, participants must bring them to the exam themselves.

The successful candidate receives a VDA 6.3 auditor certificate electronically, which is registered in the VDA QMC and CSJ database.
